Following the recent failure of integrity test conducted by security agents for some judges in the Nigeria to man the proposed
Anti-Corruption Specialised Court of the Federal Government,
the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEO) has recommended a serving Osun State High Court Judge, Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede, to be appointed by the President Muhammadu Buhari  as one of the judges to man the court in the country.

The group described Justice Oloyede as uncompromised and upright with bold spirit of  jurist like Justice Kayode Eso of blessed memory ,who had a track record of saying the truth at all times without fear or favour.

It would be recalled that Justice Oloyede wrote a petition against the Governor of the State and his deputy, Mr Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and Mrs. Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori respectively, calling for their impeachment on the grounds of  alleged  criminal and reckless financial mismanagement of resources accrued to the State from Federation Account, after the thorough investigation of the allegation of financial impropriety.

Reviewing the recent report in the media that some Judges selected to man the court failed the integrity test and other sundry issues at the monthly meeting of the Coalition held in Osogbo, the State capital at the weekend.

The group, in a  statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, which a copy was made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital, maintained that any judge that would be appointed for such sensitive position should be a man of impeccable character and incorruptible judicial officer.

According to the group: “It is now clear that most of the judicial
officers in the land have soiled their hands for one corruptible
practices or the others for failing integrity test conducted by the
security agents, which means our nation is blinking.

“We want to use this opportunity to recommend the courageous serving Judge of the Osun State High Court, Justice Olamide Folahnmi Oloyede to be appointed as one of the integrity Judges to man the proposed Anti-Corruption Specialised Court that will be trying the looters of the nation’s treasury, by the President  Muhammadu Buhari.

“We also want to say that Justice Oloyede is the woman of virtue, integrity and an upright with impeccable character who believes in the efficacy of law to right the wrong of our society, particularly,
the menace of corruption that is eaten deep into the fabrics of
Nigeria system.

“The records are there to be checked for anybody about Justice Folahanmi Oloyede.”

Meanwhile, the CSCEO has passed vote of no confidence on Professor Itse Sagay as the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti- Corruption, insisting that Sagay and his co-travelers were all out to save Aregbesola from corruption
investigation.

The grooup said the University don lacks integrity in all
ramifications to head  the advisory committee for President Muhammadu Buhari on anti-corruption.

It condemned Sagay for insisting that Justice Folahanmi Oloyede
should be removed from the bench by National Judicial Council (NJC) for daring to challenge Governor Aregbesola for corrupt practices.

It therefore called for the immediate removal of Professor Sagay as head of Advisory Committee in order to restore confidence of Nigerians in the presidential anti-corruption committee.

For Sagay’sreplacement, the group suggested jurists like Justice Mustapha Akanbi and Justice Muhammed Lawal Uwais.

“If Professor Itse Sagay is a man of honour like Justice Olamide
Folahanmi Oloyede, he should come out to tell the whole world his role during the case involving late Chief Gani Fawehinmi  versus Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu over certificate forgery saga.

“Sagay should not forget to tell the public his close relationship with the All Progressives Congress(APC) National Leader and his
godson, Mr Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola,” the group said.
