The Lagos State Government has sacked all volunteer worker serving under its Primary Health Care Board.
In a circular date September 20, 2017 and signed by Dr. Adenike Oluwo on behalf of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, the state noted that the services of all volunteer workers in Primary Health Sector will no longer be needed as from October 1, 2017.
The circular reads; “ I have the directive to bring to your notice that the services of Health Volunteers will no longer by the state government as from October 1, 2017.
“As a result the Primary Health Care Board will no longer be responsible for payment of any allowance accrue to the Health Volunteer through the local government.”
The circular was copied to all Head of Administration, Human Resources Officers and Medical Officers across the 20 local government and 37 local community development areas in the state.
