Nnamdi Kanu

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to missing leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, has begged the Federal Government to pardon Biafra members locked up in various prisons across the country.

Mr. Ejiofor, in the letter to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, decried that “hundreds of innocent and defenseless IPOB members who are mostly youths”, are languishing in different prisons in the South East states and Kuje Prison in Abuja, based on “phantom, frivolous and cooked-up allegations”.

He further drew attention of the AGF to the fact that one of the alleged pro-Biafra agitators, Mr. Bright Chimezie, has been in custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, without trial, despite a judgment of the Federal High Court in Uyo which ordered his release and also awarded him N5million damages for the violation of his fundamental human rights.
