In a coordinated manner, Internally Displaced Persons at the various camps in Abuja on Wednesday staged peaceful protests against what they described as the poor condition under which they have been kept by the Nigerian government for sometime now.
Armed with various placards carrying various inscriptions to draw attention to their plights, the protesting IDPs have remained at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Abuja.
Many of them complained that the living standard at the camp could only be meant for lower animals.
Noting that they are not animals and should not be treated as such, they are calling on the government to immediately change the situation of the camps and make them habitable.
